Success Secrets: 5 Questions to Ask Yourself Every Morning
Your answers to these 5 essential questions will help to positively transform your productivity and well-being.
Do you have a positive and harmonious attitude in the morning?
If not, it's time to change that!
Here are five essential questions to ask yourself every morning to start your day on the right foot. The questions — and your answers — will also help you grow your success and happiness in life.
1. What are my goals for today?
Do you have a definite idea of what you want to accomplish today? Perhaps you’re looking to make new friends, gain new skills, or simply be content and happy with your work.
Whatever your goals and aims for the day, write them down first thing in the morning. And then begin making them a reality.
But don’t forget the bigger picture. If you have goals for the week, month and year (which I recommend), then make sure your daily goals align and support these bigger goals.
2. What do I need to do today to reach my goals?
If there are things holding you back from achieving your goals, know that you overcome them — it might just take a little effort and planning on your part.
To help achieve this, make a list of everything that needs to be done in order for you to reach your goals. This list might include:
Calling people you haven't talked to recently
Cleaning your house
Sorting out your paperwork
Writing a detailed plan of action
Another success secret is to break down your big goals into small, bite-sized chunks.
For example, if you have a goal of writing a book on healthy living tips, don't attempt to write the whole book in one mammoth session. Instead, aim to write a chapter a day until you reach the final page.
3. What are my biggest hopes and fears for today?
What do you think will happen today? Will things go as planned or will something unexpected happen?
Sometimes it's best to face our fears head on and plan for the worst so that we can handle any surprises with ease.
Knowing your fears can help you to better prepare for what's to come, and ultimately make your day happier and more productive. (Less time spent worrying = more time spent working towards your goals.)
4. What am I grateful for today?
Do you have an attitude of gratitude? I hope so, as a grateful person is a happy person!
Personally, I like to take a few minutes each morning to reflect on all the good things that have happened in my life recently — both big and small. Not only does this help me feel happy and positive throughout the day, but it also inspires me to keep making plans and taking action.
You may think you don't have much to be grateful for, but I'm sure you can find something.
Perhaps you can be thankful for:
Your health
Your family
Your friends
Your pets
Your job
Your home
Your opportunities
5. What are the best ways I can help other people today?
This is a question I ask myself every morning, and it has helped me to step out of self-interest and develop altruism and compassion.
If you're willing to look and make the effort, you'll discover the countless ways that you can help others on a daily basis.
This could be through donating money or resources, thanking someone for their work, or volunteering your time to a worthy cause.
Every day is an opportunity to help someone in some way. And you never know, you might just change someone's life for the better.
By taking a few minutes to ask yourself these five questions each morning, you'll quickly build a habit of being super focused and motivated. In turn, this will lead to increased success, happiness and well-being.
So please don't hesitate, start tomorrow morning — and begin transforming your life!
